Research by PYMNTS.com and Entersekt found that “consumers, especially those from younger generations, want to use digital tools like mobile banking apps but often get frustrated when completing transactions because they must perform too many steps.” In fact, according to the report, often their concern about too many steps drives people to simply try to get their transaction done at a branch, when they can, even though they have the FI’s app. The research also found that over a third — 37% — of consumers actually prefer their FI’s online banking over the mobile app because they simply find it easier to use. This article goes on to explain why people don’t use mobile banking apps, by generation.
This article posits that separating the great mobile banking app design from the bad needs attention to friction and to the fact that, all too often, the user experience (UX) suffers at the hands of security and risk concerns. They think that banking apps should focus on, measure and strive to offer a great UX, not just across some activities in some settings, but across all activities in all settings.

Secure Access Service Edge, SASE, refers to a collection of existing services that are integrated as a common set of functions and features. These services include wide area networking (WAN) and security solutions such as firewall-as-a-service (FWaaS) and Zero Trust that are integrated into a single service delivered through the cloud. SASE creates easier management and reduces costs of multiple separate services when an organization has different networking security solutions that are integrated into one service. A single suite of security capabilities managed by a single unified solution can also deliver better threat detection and data protection.
SD-WAN uses a combination of tunneling technology and orchestration and control software to create the appearance of a single, unified network regardless of the physical transport medium over which it is running. SD-WAN can run over several different types of underlying connectivity. In response to competition from IT systems integrators assisting with SD-WAN deployments, which are garnering some of service providers’ customer relationships, network operators are now setting up their own network services departments.
