The premium chip, which consumes a dramatically low 4.5 watts - less than even new power-efficient light bulbs - is geared for a newer class of hybrid computing devices that can act either like tablets or PCs. Compared with the comparable fourth-generation Core chips, the Intel Core M is 50 percent faster at computing and 40 percent faster at graphics.
Zinstall Migration Suite allows you to fairly easily transfer an entire user workspace - including applications, settings, personalization, documents, domain settings, security policies, and data files - from one system to another in a multitude of scenarios. For example, you can migrate from one computer to another, transfer from a physical machine to a virtual machine, perform an in-place upgrade, or simply transfer profiles, settings, and data. Mercator Advisory Group's most recent Insight Report from the CustomerMonitor Survey Series reveals that 38% of U.S. adults, especially young adults (62%), are interested in wearable technology devices with a mobile interface that enables various activities, which may include making payments or mobile banking. The latest report from the research firm reveals mobile payments is of growing interest and use as 43% of U.S. consumers surveyed have tried mobile payments, up from 31% in 2013. The report concludes that "timely and useful e-coupons, discounts, and loyalty rewards and even e-receipt management stimulates mobile payment use. Consumer enthusiasm for new wearable technology demonstrates that consumers want to use mobile payments but only if it's easy to use and embedded with other relevant functionality."
According to a survey by the Federal Reserve released in March, the most common use of phone apps is checking bank balances and tracking transactions. Some consumer groups are lauding mobile banking for helping to reduce costly overdraft fees. Because people can now find out their balances with a few taps on their phones, they overdraw their accounts less frequently. Plus consumers are increasingly opting in to automatically receiving alerts to their phones when balances drop below certain levels, which also helps prevent overdrafts.
McAfee Labs revealed that phishing continues to be an effective tactic for infiltrating enterprise networks. Testing business users` ability to detect online scams, the McAfee Phishing Quiz uncovered that 80% of its participants failed to detect at least one of seven phishing emails. Even more disturbing, their results showed that finance and HR departments performed the worst at detecting fake emails. The Report also revealed that rate of new malware appears to have leveled off at about 700,000 per quarter, and denial of service attacks rose by 4% in the second quarter and remain the most prevalent type of network threat.

Some financial institutions head to college campuses every fall to recruit students, but some observers believe that this is a dying practice. That is because they contend that this is too late in the game - credit unions should concentrate on getting their members' kids banking prior in high school or even junior high. For example, one institution offers a "Varsity Checking" account that is geared towards teens aged 12 to 17, and includes a downloadable financial education guide.
Prepaid card deposits will rise to $168.4 billion by 2015, according to a report from CardHub examining 26 different prepaid card products. The report found the amount of money loaded onto general-purpose reloadable prepaid debit cards nearly tripled between 2008 and 2012 to $76.7 billion. The researchers attributes this growth to two factors:
- the rising cost of traditional banking services
- consumers' dwindling trust in banks
According to a global survey exploring consumers' payment views from B2B International and Kaspersky Lab, nearly 25 percent of consumers believe the "most secure way to pay" is using any form of electronic money, including Bitcoins and PayPal. The survey found support for digital payment methods was mostly constant across multiple age groups: 24 percent for shoppers between the ages of 16 and 24, 25 percent for shoppers aged 25-34 and those 35-44, and 20 percent for those in the 45-plus age group.

According to Google, almost 10,000 websites a day are infected with malware that is intended to harm site visitors. Meanwhile, Websense states that 85% of all malicious web content is hosted on legitimate websites that have been compromised. 6Scan focuses its services on smaller organization looking to prevent these issues. They help by automating the detection and remediation of website vulnerabilities and embedded malware. The company says that their solution can automatically remediate the issues that they detect by patching vulnerabilities and remediating malware.
Cisco's PfR is an advanced, application-driven routing protocol that is designed for hybrid WANs. PfR uses application-level intelligence, such as packet loss, jitter, mean opinion scores (MOS) and other factors to determine the best path across a Wide Area Network. Using PfR, an organization could architect a network with a mix of MPLS, Internet paths, and 3G/4G wireless and route-specific applications down the various paths depending on the importance of the application. However, a fairly small percentage of users that have PfR capable routers actually turn it on due to the fact that it has been difficult to configure. Cisco says that Version 3 of PfR, which was released this summer, solves the complexity problems. Configuration is now done centrally and the PfR policies are pushed out to the branch routers.
