Soaring Eagle Business Solutions announced it has entered into a partnership with the $14 million Police FCU of Upper Marlboro, MD, and the $15 million HEMA FCU of Silver Spring, MD, under which both credit unions will be able to offer “IDShield,” an identity protection product, to their members.
CU*NorthWest, the 100% credit union-owned cooperative CUSO, announced that Chula Vista City Employees FCU in Chula Vista, CA, has signed with CU*NorthWest and is scheduled for conversion in February 2018. Chula Vista City Employees FCU was chartered in 1967 and the $2.8 million dollar credit union represents approximately 579 members.
Constellation Digital Partners, which has been building what it has described as a “revolutionary software platform that will transform the future of digital banking for credit unions and members,” has released Aquarius through Amazon Cloud Services. The CUSO has said its objective is to create and deliver “a complete suite of digital financial services dedicated solely to credit unions.”

Dell-EMC announced the VxBlock 1000 which aims to make private cloud deployment even simpler. The VxBlock product line consists of the 240, 350, 540 and 740; the primary difference between them is the storage in them. Customers choose the type of storage based on the workload. The National ATM Council (NAC) has released the findings of a new independent study on the state of the US ATM marketplace, entitled Location Study of ATMs in U.S. by Ownership, 2018. They report that there are 470,135 ATMs in service today in the US, with FIs accounting for 191,741 of the US ATM terminals, and the remaining 278,394 ATMs in America owned and operated by independent ATM providers and merchants.

In a new study by the The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), CISOs weighed in on the most critical cyber-defense methods, frequency of cyber-preparedness reporting to their respective boards of directors as well as the current cyber chain of command within their respective financial organizations. 35 percent of CISOs surveyed said that employee training is a top priority for improving security posture in the financial sector. Infrastructure upgrades and network defense are also prioritized by 25 percent of CISOs; and breach prevention by 17 percent.
