Credit Union's API Drive to Digital Innovation

This article points out that one challenge for CUs is in knowing that APIs aren’t by themselves a digital strategy — the idea that one can easily flip on functions via an API can lull leaders into a false belief that tapping into tech to better serve their members is as easy as turning on a light. However, the right suite of API-based tools properly deployed is a strategic advantage of CUs in two ways: 1) it allows them to build a digital member experience that most closely tracks to and resembles what members most value about the experience of banking with a CU and 2) APIs are a great equalizer because APIs allow CUs to easily add customized services.

VMware Executive Predicts Edge Solutions Will Come to Life in 2020

In order to bring edge deployments to life, edge solutions need to decrease or naturalize edge computing costs, and consolidate the amount of infrastructure needed at all of those edge locations. As an example, a VMware executive cited a single hardware appliance that provides an SD-WAN service while also running a few other applications in isolation. The end result reduces costs by consolidating the infrastructure while improving network performance.

Securing the Contact Center

As Javelin Strategy & Research collected information on location at multiple contact centers, they found it readily apparent that contact center security needs a makeover. Every contact center had significant vulnerabilities that were identifiable by speaking with agents and operational staff, and by listening to consumer conversations. The problem is that with a sophisticated toolkit, criminals can spoof calls, artfully gather data, and take over accounts without the representative being aware that the true person is not on the call. They go on to cover some solutions in their Securing the Contact Center report.
