PSECU Piloting Program Offering One-on-One Financial Coaching to Students

PSECU has launched a pilot program aimed at providing free, one-on-one financial coaching sessions to members who are students at five Pennsylvania-based colleges and universities. The 30-minute individual coaching sessions will be held on campus, and students can sign up at PSECU’s Financial Education Centers. PSECU said students may choose from two session topics: Understanding Credit and Overview of Student Loans.

Cisco Adds Proactive Problem Solving to Data-Center Software

Network Insights is software Cisco customers use to monitor and record hardware and software telemetry data over time to identify anomalies in their networks and help automate troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, capacity planning and remediation, according to Cisco. For example, Network Insights can watch over network component usage patterns and audit logs, events, and faults as well as latency conditions from Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure or Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) network fabrics.

Cash Network Builder

Sonect, which recently won Best of Show in its Finovate debut at FinovateEurope, leverages what it calls a social network for cash to help people get the cash they need wherever they are. The firm claims that FIs can extend their ATM networks with Sonect, avoiding the expense of purchasing and maintaining additional cash distribution hardware. Using the Sonect app, users select their preferred merchant and the amount of cash they wish to withdraw. The merchant will scan the barcode in the user’s Sonect app, and the funds will automatically be deducted from their account as soon as the transaction is confirmed. The user then receives their cash.

Google Reveals New Cloud Security Features at RSA 2020

Google made a number of security announcements at RSA 2020, including upgrades to its Chronicle Security platform and the general release of its reCAPTCHA Enterprise and Web Risk API tools. Google also announced two additions to Chronicle which is their security analytics platform: Threat detection using the new YARA-L rules language and enhanced data modeling.



VMware Amps up Its Cloud and Data-Center Security

VMware is rolling out three new offerings: 1) VMware Advanced Security for Cloud Foundation; 2) Support for security correlation with the MITRE ATT&CK framework Technique IDs (TIDs); and 3) VMware Secure State. The announcements further VMware’s overarching goal of integrating security features within its infrastructure – a concept it calls intrinsic security – that it says will better protect networked workloads than traditional piecemeal protection systems. They also feature the further integration of a number of technologies VMware has recently acquired.

Juniper Queues up Security for Encrypted Traffic

Juniper Networks has boosted its threat detection capabilities across its Mist platform for wireless users and Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP) Cloud and SRX Series firewalls. Juniper's new encrypted traffic analysis feature was designed to detect malicious botnets that are often undetected due to encryption. It gives organizations more visibility and policy control over encrypted traffic, without requiring resource-intensive SSL Decryption. For customers using Juniper SRX firewalls, it doesn't require additional hardware or network changes to set up and manage.



Financial Services Companies Are Ahead in Hybrid Cloud Deployments

With security as the guiding factor, financial services companies are ahead of all other industries in deploying hybrid clouds, but they lag behind others in their use of multi-public cloud servicesdue to security/compliance concerns, according to a newly-released report. Nearly 18% of 2,650 global IT decision makers are now running hybrid clouds, according to the second annual 2019 Enterprise Cloud Index Report by cloud provider Nutanix. Hybrid cloud is a combination of private and public cloud environments with some level of interoperability between them.
