They say that their Payment Fraud Manager is one of the industry`s most advanced fraud prevention solutions for EFT across major settlement channels, including SEPA, SWIFT, Fedwire and ACH.
Lenovo, Intel, Synaptics and PayPal revealed a collaborative effort to rollout a biometric authentication system for PCs that will implement current FIDO standards, bringing established FIDO biometric authentication capabilities to the PC. The 7th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX) lay the groundwork for a hardware-protected biometric authentication securing users` FIDO credentials and biometric information. Fingerprint authentication can be used for device unlock and online transactions, and will first appear on the Lenovo Yoga 910 convertible.
The Logitech K780 is a multi-device wireless keyboard that is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Chrome OS, Android, and iOS. The full-size, six row keyboard features a complete set of function keys and a number pad, and claims to provide fast and effortless switching between your computer, smartphone, and tablet. You can link up to three devices at a time to the K780 via Bluetooth.
Analysts from 451 Research say that application containers can yield significant savings over traditional hardware virtualization. While each VM (virtual machine) has its own operating system, containers, on the other hand, virtualize the operating system so multiple containers share the OS which in turn creates efficiencies. There is less duplication and therefore less resource consumption, and having fewer operating systems means there are fewer OS security updates.
In response to reports showing that the majority of businesses still run Windows 7, Microsoft is rolling out a complimentary service to make it easier to avoid Windows 10 upgrade problems. The Windows Upgrade Analytics tool is a cloud service that organizations can use to gather data on the hardware and software used by Windows PCs. The service offers a dashboard that shows which apps and drivers are compatible with Windows 10 and suggests remedies to fix any problems.
Safetica Auditor collects data from the systems you want to monitor and displays it in a dashboard so that you are able to track sensitive files, spot potential data breaches, and develop appropriate compliance guidelines. The goal is to see how your sensitive data is used, stored, and shared so that you can spot potential accidental or deliberate data leaks early. The company also offers Safetica DLP (Data Loss Prevention) which helps prevent files and sensitive data from leaving the organization.
According to the Aite Group, over 400,000 ATMs across the country need to be upgraded for EMV - at a cost of $300 to $3,000 per machine - and that migration can take anywhere from six months to a year. ATMs that already have chip-card readers likely only need software upgrades, but older machines may simply have to be scrapped - around 5% will be retired according to the ATMIA. Some observers believe that many ATM deployers will simply wait until Visa's ATM liability shift happens in 2017 to try and become fully EMV compliant.
Parabit has introduced mobile NFC and contactless EMV access control for secure ATM lobbies. The company's multimedia reader integrates with their ACS-1E ATM vestibule access control and remote facility management system. The device features dual skimmer detection that detects overlay skimmers as well as RFID listeners. The multimedia reader supports:

MasterCard is introducing a proprietary API program that enables its partners to access APIs across security, data and payments categories alongside supportive tools, such as software development kits and sample code for top coding languages. The MasterCard Developers program also includes a new and experimental API category that allows their partners to test out new interfaces and technologies. Developers can access more than 25 different APIs, including mobile payments platform MasterPass as well as MasterCard Digital Enablement Services.
Samsung IT unit Samsung SDS is partnering with vision and voice technology firm Sensory to imbed biometric recognition capabilities in mobile devices in an effort to safeguard their mobile transactions. The joint venture plans to use a mobile device`s front-facing camera, as well as voice recognition, to help authenticate users and transactions. Samsung said that the technology could be used to validate high value transactions and/or fuse together both voice and facial recognition technology simultaneously for a one-step authentication approach.
On mobile apps, some people call the little stack of horizontal lines in the upper right corner the "the hamburger navigation menu." HackerOne is an unusual security company that helps you discover vulnerabilities in your Internet-facing systems. What is unique about them is that they will scan your systems at your request and send you a report outlining what they found. You send them money as a thank you if the report was useful. If it wasn`t, you do not have to pay. The company currently has over 70,000 ethical hackers and security researchers signed up for their platform.
Microsoft has added two new features to their Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection: URL Detonation, which analyzes hyperlinks in files to see if they lead to malicious sites, and Dynamic Delivery, which scans file attachments for security threats, while still allowing users to preview the content without delay. The software giant notes that they will be extending Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. As for Dynamic Delivery, they point out that a typical attachment takes three to four minutes for them to scan, so they try to take the useful info out of the attachment and deliver it immediately, then scan the attachment, and finally put the attachment in their inbox once they are finished scanning it completely.
Trusona announced that its Cloud Identity Suite now offers three tiers of identity-proofing and authentication — Essential, Executive and Elite. The company notes that more than 63% of confirmed data breaches in 2015 involved weak, default or pilfered passwords and says that they want to help eliminate passwords by providing the world`s first and only insured cloud identity suite.

2016 will mark the first time in history that consumers spent more on cards than they did with cash, according to a new report from the market research firm Euromonitor International. Their research indicates that consumers across the globe will spend about $23.2 trillion in card payment transactions and $22.6 trillion in cash this year. The report attributes the decline in cash in part to the rise of debit cards, with worldwide debit card use jumping 8 percent from 2015 to 2016 in terms of cards in circulation, compared to a 5 percent growth rate for worldwide credit card use.
This week represents the one year anniversary of the EMV liability shift and merchants not yet processing chip cards have seen the number of chargebacks rise significantly higher than expectations. In response the U.S. Payments Forum recently issued a white paper detailing best practices and guidelines for issuers, merchants, and acquirers handling chargebacks, which observers say provides some clarity about who is liable in various chargeback scenarios.
EarthLink is offering a 90 day trial period for up to five locations for EarthLink SD-WAN (software defined wide area network) Concierge service. After sign-up, they will provide a team to assist with creating and deploying routing and security policies based on real-time analytics that are specific to each client's network. Customers can integrate other bundled services including hosted voice, security and secure Wi-Fi with the SD-WAN Concierge offering, and EarthLink claims that they can offer up to 100 times the bandwidth at significantly lower cost than traditional hybrid WAN networks.
While Chrome is the leading browser with Internet Explorer in second place, Mozilla developers continue to upgrade the Firefox browser. Similar to Chrome, each Firefox tab now gets its own process which the developers say increases performance (in both startup and page rendering), as well as stability and security. The latest version is Firefox 49 and some observers are predicting that it will breathe new life into the open source browser.
